Original printed wrappers = A major monograph with many new species and clear illustrations, written by the British botanist and Desmidieae specialist, William Barwell Turner (1845-1917). EastIndia here means the eastern part of India, not the East Indies, although many species have a distribution wider than the area covered. Printed for the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, being the Society's complete Handlingar 25(5). Small chips to spine cover; fore edge a bit rough (uncut), otherwise a very good, clean copy. Rare, especially in this very good state.
