Hard Cover with dust jacket (cm 33x25), pp 187, with many color and BW photographs about the monuments of Ahmadabad in Gujarat. Small defects on the edges of the dust jacket. With its many mosques and tombs dating from the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, Ahmadabad preserves some of the finest Indian Islamic buildings, though these are little know outside the region. The book includes such diverse architectural traditions as the Hindu and Jain temples, the step-wells, and houses with intricately carved woodwork. Historical introduction by guest author John Burton-Page.
