First English edition, 8vo, xii, [v]-xii, [13]-308pp., with half-title, folding engraved frontispiece of surgical instruments, nineteenth-century purple cloth. Frick was an eye surgeon in Baltimore, and this work, a compendium based largely on G. J. Beerís lectures, was so highly regarded in England that it was re-published here with notes by Richard Welbank. Formerly in the library of the Birmingham Medical Institute.
