London, R. Lea, 1800. Small 8vo (18.0 x 10.7 cm). xvi, 118 pp., ten engraved plates and 20 engraved tables. Slightly later half calf. Spine with five raised, gilt-bordered bands and title. Marbled endpapers. = According to Sinkansas "the first book in English to describe how diamonds and pearls can be evaluated on the basis of the factors of size and weight and style of the cut". Ward and Carozzi only quote the 1751 (1750?) first edition which had only ten plates. Front board detached, spine rubbed, some occasional light foxing throughout, but still a very good copy.
