With a fine engraved map and 13 plates engraved by Charles Heath from drawings by the author. 4to, in contemporary three-quarter calf over green moire cloth-covered boards, the spine with wide gilt decorated raised bands and a black morocco label gilt ruled and lettered. xi, [1], 449 pp. A handsome copy, the text is especially clean and fresh, with the commonly seen toning or spotting to the plates due to the ink used in printing, with some offsetting to the adjoining pages, the binding solid and attractive with some light evidence of age or use.
