First edition, INSCRIBED PRESENTATION COPY, SIGNED by the author and a LIMITED ISSUE of only 210 signed copies printed on Georgian laid paper. This copy is thus a twice-signed copy. Title-page printed within a fanciful blue boarder. 8vo, in an unusual binding of full indigo calf, both covers with a gilt ruled flower-and-vine frame, within this at the four corners are crossed black leather straps looking like ties, the upper cover gilt lettered, the lower cover with central gilt tool, the spine with wide raised bands gilt tooled creating compartments with central gilt wheat tools, additional gilt trim at the tips, vivid stiff marbled paper endleaves and pastedowns. [vi], 65, [1] pp. A very attractive and unique copy, the text clean and fresh, the binding with a little rubbing at the extremities from shelving and a touch worn at the head of the spine.
Edizione: a twice signed limited issue uniquely bound copy of poems by the founder of voices, a distinguished magazine of poetry with a long history. a native of vinalhaven, maine, the author, having an epiphany at the age of thirty began a new career as a poet. many of his poems are about the sea and vinalhaven. he was the founder of voices, a poetry magazine which was published for over 40 years. vinal later became secretary of the poet society of america and a member of the craftsman group.
