Bombay [Mumbai], The Bombay Natural History Society, 1916-1919. Two papers in two. 8vo (24.4 x 16.7 cm). 22; 14 pp. [numbered 689-710; 585-598]. Disbound. = Published in the Society's Journal. "A Note on Some Birds" is an understatement. In fact there are many bird species discussed, as well as nests and eggs. Gujranwala is situated in northeastern Pakistan; Ludhiana, less than 200 KM to the southest in India. In both papers, numbering follows Blanford and Oates's volumes on birds of the Fauna of British India. Written by the the British police officer and ornithologist Hugh Whistler (1889-1943), author of the Popular Handbook of Indian Birds, which went through at least four editions. Very good, clean copies.
