A matter of colour : documentary of the struggle for racial equality in the USA. Introduction by Ronald Segal. First edition Penguin Books, 1965, text by Lorraine Hansberry, of the Civil Rights Movement in America. Photos are provided by an array of big-name photojournalists of the time, including Danny Lyon, Roy DeCavara, David Heath, and Robert Frank. Lorraine Hansberry was a playwright and writer, and the first African-American female author to have a play performed on Broadway. Her best known work was the play A Raisin in the Sun. She died in 1965, the year after the publication of this book in the States. Softcover, pp 128, with black & white photos, some shocking, documenting the Civil Rights movement at the time.
