Calcutta, Government of India, 1893. 8vo. 566 pp., frontispiece, one very large folded geological full colour map, five other geological maps (some larger, folded or tinted), 15 plates. Contemporary half calf over marbled boards. = This is the second revised and largely rewritten edition by R. D. Oldham. The many fine plates show fossils from various periods (mostly Mesozoic, Palaeogene, and Neogene) including Echinodermata, molluscs, etc. This not the modern reprint. Old cancelled stamp and owner's inscription of the geologist N. Wing Easton on the title page. Slight dampstain to top edge. Joints weak, spine damaged and rear board near-detached. A fair but complete copy, with, however, the plates and both the large full-colour geological map of India, and the large folded map of the Himalayas in good condition.
