The Centenial printing, and only the second printing of this work originally published in New London in 1710. 16mo, in a handsome later but still antique binding of full green calf, the boards with gilt ruled frame at edges, the spine with raised bands ruled in gilt, compartments with gilt central leaf tools, one compartment with a maroon morocco label gilt ruled and lettered, gilt numbered at the foot, marbled endpapers, a.e.g. xii, 144pp. A well preserved copy of this rare little book, the text solid, some mottling, lower corner of the title-page with small loss at the lower corner, the binding with front hinge tender, a little wear at the tips and corners, the spine mellowed as usual with green calf.

Edizione: very uncommon, the centennial printing and only the first time the work was reprinted. this is an exact reprint of the original 1710 publication but for the modification to the title-page.<br> the connecticut confession was based on the earlier 1680 new england confession, a formal statement of faith adopted by a synod of ministers in boston. the 1708 saybrook platform both adapted and adopted the principles of the 1680 confession for the delegation of churches in the connecticut colony. these documents are considered important early american church history, preserving the theological and ecclesiastical standards of the time.
