Descrizione
Albumen carte-de-visite photograph (early 1860s) of the English churchman and his wife, one of the leaders of the Oxford Movement. Keble College in Oxford was founded in his memory. The couple is depicted in full-figure : Charlotte is sitting on a chair holding a book in her left hand, while her husband is holding it from the other side with his left. John looks into the camera while Charlotte is gazing at the book. Blank backside, presumably photographed by the studio of Robert Hawker Peniel Preston (1838-1933) active in Madron, Penzance from 1861.
