Albumen carte-de-visite photograph (1860s) of the 2nd Baron Stanley of Alderley, Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasury (1835-1841) and President of the Board of Trade (1855-1858). The Baron is depicted in full-figure, with his left hand resting on a chair, his right holding an umbrella, with his top hat on his head. Photographed in the studio of Henry Maull (1829-1914) and George Henry Polyblank (1828 -), active in London between 1856 and 1865. Marked on the back “Maull & Polyblank Photographers”.
